Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR) Testing and Analysis

The resting metabolic rate test is used to determine the proportion of energy that the client spends per day coming from carbohydrate and what proportion comes from fat. It will also give us an accurate calorie intake required to maintain essential functions, from which an accurate calorie daily intake can be determined. Your RMR accounts for about 70 percent of all the energy you expend daily. The resting metabolic rate test is a simple, non-invasive test. During the test, a machine captures and analyzes the composition of your breath, determining your oxygen consumption to measure the rate at which you consume energy. Each resting metabolic rate test will take 15-20 mins. Clients will fill out a dietary questionnaire before the test. The questionnaire and test results will be used to guide the client in the right direction for their desired goal. The RMR Report provides you with three main metrics including: The fuel sources your body uses during daily activities - divided between fat and carbohydrate - provided as a percentage. A good score would be 80% fat to 20% carbohydrate. Your metabolic health in comparison to norms for age and gender. 50% means your metabolism is NORMAL for your gender and age. A higher score means you burn more than normal and a lower score means you burn less. Your caloric requirements based on your metabolic rate and fitness goal with caloric recommendations for weight maintenance or loss.
